About Our Idea

Recent Canadian studies reveal a concerning statistic: one-third of cyber threats in our country are perpetrated by individuals aged 20 and under. This alarming trend is mirrored in findings from the UK's National Crime Agency and Europol, which highlight how teenagers often become involved in cybercrime due to its prevalence in their early online experiences. Even The Hauge has started to research this issue. These studies underscore the importance of early intervention in steering youth away from cybercriminal activities, as it can significantly influence their trajectory in this realm.

What if we could change online habits of Canadian youth?

Addressing youth involvement in cybercrime requires proactive intervention and collaboration across education, law enforcement, and community sectors.

The establishment of a nationwide high school sensor network for collective defense presents a promising opportunity to bolster cybersecurity efforts in this country. By tapping into the potential of young minds and leveraging their educational resources, we can create a robust defense mechanism to safeguard against cyber threats.

Empowering youth through Cyber Defence Education

Addressing these challenges requires a multifaceted approach that combines education, intervention, and collaboration between educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, and communities. By providing young people with opportunities to engage in constructive cybersecurity activities, such as operating honeypots and analyzing cyber threats, we can not only deter them from engaging in illicit behaviors but also channel their talents towards positive contributions to cybersecurity.

Our proposed initiative seeks to leverage these insights by establishing a nationwide network of high school honeypots, empowering students to actively participate in cybersecurity defense while simultaneously receiving mentorship and guidance from experts in the field. By fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability among youth, we can reshape attitudes towards cybercrime and demonstrate the tangible impact of their efforts in safeguarding our digital infrastructure.

Support to Schools

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to empowering schools and educators to equip students with essential cyber defense skills. We're dedicated to making cybersecurity education accessible and engaging, offering easy-to-deploy software packages, comprehensive lesson plans, and a wealth of teaching aids at absolutely no cost. Our approach goes beyond just providing resources — we're here to support teachers every step of the way. Through regular calls and interactive sessions, we connect directly with participating groups, engaging students directly, answering their questions, and demystifying the intricacies of cybersecurity tools they're using. By fostering this hands-on learning experience and facilitating open dialogue, we aim to cultivate a generation of digitally savvy individuals ready to navigate the complexities of the cyber landscape with confidence.

We're forging dynamic partnerships with universities, leveraging their expertise and resources to bolster our efforts in providing comprehensive cyber defense education and support. By harnessing the energy and innovation of both university students and younger learners, we're creating a symbiotic relationship where two groups of youth support one another in their shared mission. Together, we're fostering a collaborative ecosystem where knowledge flows freely, empowering the next generation of cybersecurity enthusiasts to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
